A warm welcome to all.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate UiTM Optometry Students Association (OPTIMIST) for their success in being able to create and manage their very own first website, within one year of establishment.
Futher congratulation, to the organization committee of the association, for managing and carrying out numerous activities without fail. Not forgetting, to the other members of the society, whom always give continuous support and full cooperation in the coming activities that will be organized by OPTIMIST within this semester and the future. Let us all hope that this association will futher continue to develop tremendously.
Lately during the July 2008 intake, UiTM Optometry Department had received the enrolment of 19 new students and it is not too late for me to welcome them all. I really hope that this new batch of students will be able to make themselves comfortable with the new surrounding and manage to fully adapt with the campus life in this university. I eagerly hope that the students of UiTM Optometry will continue to presevere in their studies to ensure excellent academic perfomance among the students of UiTM.
As the Head of Department for Optometry and Advisor of OPTIMIST, I would like to urge students from this department, to come and consult me if in any doubts or problems, regardless whether in academic aspect or not. Students may feel free to approach me in my office to discuss any doubts or reach me by my email address (chenaihong[at]salam.uitm.edu.my) to give feedback and suggestion regarding issues or problems they face.
Apart from that, there are many other appropriate channels that students can benefit from if they encounter any problems, especially in education. Such channels are like the Peer to Peer Programme, which is being carried out throughout the semester, and consultation with the lecturers. It is wise for the students to practice the habit of enquiring when in doubt to prevent future failures.
Last but not least, once again, I really hope that students of UiTM Optometry Depatment will go through these coming challenging days with high moral values.
Practises of high intrinsic values will assist students in striving for victory in all aspect of livng.

MIND REVOLUTION PROGRAMME
MIND REVOLUTION programme is an induction programme for the new UiTM Optometry Programme intake of July 2008 
. This programme is organized by UiTM Optometry Students Association (OPTIMIST).

Search For Posting Placement
ATTENTION TO ALL SEMESTER 5 UiTM OPTOMETRY STUDENTS!!!
You are reminded to search for suitable optometry shop and hospital to become your posting place. Please find out the details of the optometry shop. The details that are needed are the shop's name, the optometrist's name, the shop's address and the shop's phone number (email and fax number if available).
The shop must also followed certain criterias. The criterias are;
1) Registered optometrist (not optician).
2) Have the keratometer and slit lamp.
3) If the shop has any other instruments, it will be better.
The details of your posting places should be given to your lecturer when you come back from your semester break next week.
